What's For Dinner?

Last night I made a delicious Chicken Pot Pie.
It sounded like the perfect ending to a cold winter night.
And I was right!
It was.
Extra Creamy Chicken Pot Pie
  • 2 unbaked pie pastries
  • 2 cups cooked chicken
  • 2 (10 oz) cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (16 oz) bag frozen veggies
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg white (optional)

Preheat oven to 400

Fit one pie pastry into pie plate. Combine chicken, veggies, soup, and milk into a large bowl and mix well. Spoon into prepared pastry. Fit remaining pastry over filling and press together to seal the edges. With a knife, cut several slits in the top to vent. Brush with egg white. Bake 45-60 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes.

Here's the results- YUMMO!

I also served it with a fresh fruit salad of bananas, green grapes, and blueberries.
For dessert Clay made snow ice cream to go over our hot fudge brownies!
Sorry I do not have any pictures of the dessert . . . we ate it before I had a chance to capture it!!

Snow Day 2010!

We woke up bright and early Tuesday morning to snow covering the ground.
It really was beautiful.
Anna woke up extra early too, so Clay took her outside to play in the snow before he headed off to work. They played outside for about 45 minutes until Anna was soaking wet & freezing. When it was time to come inside, her wheels came off! She kicked & screamed & had a gigantic meltdown. All she wanted to do was play in the snow!
Once they came inside, we warmed up with a change of clothes, a cup of hot chocolate, & some delicious homemade pancakes. YUMMY!!!!
All day long Anna kept running to the door begging to go out and play in the "no." I literally had to keep her away from all doors and windows so as to avoid any more meltdowns! Anna continued to talk about the snow all day long saying:
Mama, it no-ing! Peas, go pay!
Anna pay! It no-ing!
I heard this ALL.DAY.LONG.
I told her that Daddy would take her outside when he got home. And an elephant never forgets! As soon as her Daddy walked in the door, Anna yelled, "Dada, it no-ing! Peas, pay!"
And then she started pushing him towards the door.
So Anna & her Daddy went back outside & played & played & played.
They even built a no-man! :)

Snuggles for Gaga!

Gaga and my wild man snuggling on the couch . . .
which eventually turned into a boxing match!
He is definitely ALL BOY!!!!

Anna's First Manicure!

While we were in Waco last week, Aunt Mindy decided to give Anna her very first manicure!
Mindy had a huge drawer full of polishes so Anna got to choose her color . . . Cha-Ching Cherry!
Anna was so still the entire time, and she didn't even move a muscle.
Boy was she excited about having painted nails!
She kept repeating, "Again! Again!" when her nails were finished.

All done

As soon as we arrived home, Clay demanded that I remove the polish immediately!
He claims Anna CAN NOT have her nails painted again until she is 16 years old!!!!
