On Saturday, we went to the Mayborn Museum and it was fantastic! The twinkies had so much fun exploring everything. It is a great hands-on museum for kiddos of all ages. The first floor was very age appropriate for Anna & Brown- we could have stayed there all day! They especially enjoyed watching all of the trains and pushing every button that they found throughout the museum. If you are ever in Waco, stop by the Baylor Campus and explore the Mayborn Museum!
On Thursday, I packed up the kiddos and headed to Plano to visit one of my best friends, Aubrey, and her daughter Allison. Even with three 15 month olds, we had a very relaxing and fun visit. "Aunt Aubrey's" nanny kept the kids for the afternoon while we enjoyed some girl time together- lunch, mani & pedi, plus a little shopping! IT WAS AMAZING!!!!
After our girl time, we took the kids to Willow Bend Mall to eat and play in the play yard. This was Anna & Brown's first playground experience. Brown LOVED climbing, running, and jumping on everything. Anna, my timid one, just enjoyed people watching. Once it was time to leave though, Anna was the one throwing the fit!!
We had such a fun time visiting "Aunt Aubrey" and Alli. Thanks for being such gracious hostesses!!
Brown, Mom and Anna enjoying dinner in the food court!
The cutest hostesses ever-"Aunt Aubrey" and Allison
Our fearless pal Alli leading the way!
My wild man climbing!
Sweet Anna walking around and just observing the other children playing
Our attempt at getting a picture of the three kiddos together . . .
Last summer- getting a picture of them was SOOOO much easier!!!
WE LOVE BEANS- baked beans, green beans, any type of beans! Anna really wants to start feeding herself with a spoon, but Brown is not interested at all. He just tosses the spoon onto the floor and shovels fist fulls of food into his mouth. Any suggestions on teaching how to spoon feed?
Shovelin' food into my mouth!
Baked beans are mighty tasty!
Working so hard at scoopin' up some green beans!
All that work for this?
I give up!
Anna is such a great little helper!
She now enjoys wasing her hands and cleaning her tray when she finishes eating. After cleaning, she claps her hands and squeals with excitement. So cute!!
This afternoon when we got home from running errands, I placed Anna & Brown in their highchairs for a little afternoon snack. All of a sudden Brown starts whining (which is pretty common for him) so I didn't think anything of it. I kept feeding them and Brown continued to whine throughout his snack. When they were finished eating, I reached down to pull Brown out and he let out a yelp! STUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! His leg was stuck! He somehow managed to get his chubby little leg wedged between the side slats in his highchair. I panicked.
Then I yelled, "MOM!"
I screamed, "HEEEEELP!"
No answer again.
I hollered, "MAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!"
Still no answer!
So I fumbled, and fumbled, and fumbled to get the tray to stick. I heard a CLICK! I knew the tray was secure, and I quickly darted into my Mom's room to get help. "Brown's leg is stuck in his highchair!" I screamed.
Mom had been napping and she was in a deep sleep, but she quickly jumped out of bed and ran into the kitchen to help.
Mom held Brown still while I slathered some oil on his thigh . . . VOILA!!!! A little bit of Crisco saved the day!
Grandinka bought us a club house for her backyard, and it was finally delivered! We just LOVED playing in it! Brown stayed busy opening and shutting all of the doors and windows, and he also liked cooking in the kitchen. Anna's favorite part was the doorbell. She rang it over, and over, and over, and over again!
This is where we will spend our afternoons in Waco now!
We packed, bubble wrapped, and moved box, after box, after box . . . and we're finally finished (for now)! Movers came last Thursday and filled two huge moving trucks with all of our belongings and headed out to West Texas! We had so much, Clay had to rent a U-Haul trailer also and carry up the rest of our stuff. We filled two gigantic storage rooms with as much as we could, but it all wouldn't fit! Clay had to take the rest of our stuff and store it at the shop in Midland. After filling two moving vans and one U-Haul trailer we still had more! So my parents were kind enough to let us use half of their garage to store our remaining things. Boy have we accumulated a TON of things over the past 15 months! What a moving adventure!!!!
Clay is now in Midland living at the shop, while the twinkies and I are staying with my parents. Hopefully we will be able to find a lovely home in Midland so that we can all be together again soon. We sure do miss our Daddy!
We had a lot of help getting ready for the move!
My two little helpers!
Anna: "I don't want to move!" Brown: "Moving is fun!"
